I like the simplicity and the de-constructed nature of this quirky design. I love the silver rendition that Vizcom created and was curious to see what Sora’s and Runway’s AI video generators could do with it.
I had very different results with each video model. Sora maintained the integrity of the design throughout the video while Runway warped and distorted it. The quality of the videos was comparable since both were set at 720p.
The 4 Sora videos in this post all had the same prompt which was: ‘slowly orbit around car while slowly lowering the camera height keeping the entire car in the field of view.’ Obviously, the results were starkly different with each video. I find that it’s very frustrating to try to control the action in the videos and even more frustrating to preserve the design intent. Every AI generated video is a crap shoot. Sometimes you get lucky. It’s a blast when it actually improves the design. I created 14 videos to end up with 4 decent ones. (Sora creates 2 unique videos for each video generated).
The featured image and the last rendering were derived from still video frames. I reworked both in Adobe Photoshop. I like the almost abstract look that the extreme closeup provides in the first sketch.
