The original design for this series was a Pierce-Arrow proposal for the League of Retired Automotive Designers, which was exhibited at the Royal Oak Historical Society and the Gilmore Car Museum in Kalamazoo. Having spent 15 years in Cadillac studio, naturally the design has more than a little Cadillac styling influence. The wheelbase is so cheated in this sketch that initially, Vizcom.ai generated it as a six-wheeler with tandem rear wheels!
After shortening the wheelbase, I generated a dozen Vizcom images using the ‘Technicolor 6’ style. Four untouched iterations are shown here. As you can see, they’re very raw, Even so, they look striking with vibrant colors, dramatic lighting and reflective surfaces. I Photoshopped the last rendering at the bottom.
A friend suggested that I add a Cadillac front end from a design that will appear in a future post. We used to say that we were ‘creating a Frankenstein’ by piecing various design elements together on one car. However, I believe adding the new front end makes the final result look more like a modern Cadillac and less like a Bentley.
The most difficult area of this design to get right was the front corner. Cadillac has a very specific form vocabulary that requires much attention to exacting detail.
Admittedly, the featured rendering required much photoshopping.
