The first Sora video in this post is special to me because it’s the first AI video generated from one of my renderings that I ever saw. Ron Will sent it to me and I was as excited as the first time I saw what Vizcom.ai can do for my sketches.
For comparison, I generated a Runway video from the same rendering that was used to create the Sora video. It’s interesting how both videos have shapes that morph into view that weren’t in the original sketch like the fender peaks that appear on the Sora video and the wing and tail lights that grow out of the Runway video. The AI makes assumptions that usually improve on the original design.
I took a frame from the Sora video and rendered it in Adobe Photoshop to create the second image. I created the last video with that image in Runway. As you can see, my original design is enhanced with a more aggressive mid-engine look. The glass upper now extends to the rear of the car with a louvred black panel. The rear fenders have grown in size. Runway added an exhaust pipe which, of course wouldn’t be on an electric car. I chose to make it an LED ring backup lamp instead.
I created the featured image by heavily Photoshopping a captured image from the last video. The last two renderings in this series were originally intended to be the featured image, also captured frames heavily reworked from the last video.
The intention with my Camaro design was to create a 2+2 layout that relates to the mid-engine Corvette in appearance.
Interestingly, Sora preserved more of my original design with their video generation while Runway evolved my design for the better.
