I enjoy sketching one box designs. This series of sketches is intended to be a 2+2 electric coupe. I thought it would be interesting to expand on the idea by imagining an electric Camaro which resulted in the featured image.
I drew the initial rear 3/4 sketch in Photoshop. The design is based on the side view sketch from my Chevrolet One-Box Sedan post.
This series of sketches shows slight variations on a theme. I was experimenting with different colors and styles in Vizcom. All of the renderings were Photoshopped except the one labeled ‘Raw Vizcom.ai Image’.
The design utilizes rear cameras which removes the need for a backlight. This allows for greater cargo storage with a fastback design. The Kammback profile is also very aerodynamic. The upper is all glass.
This concept has a large gullwing door for each side. My goal was to make a 4 place design as exciting as a sports car. The resemblance to a mid-engine car is intentional.
I selected the style: Pastel Render in Vizcom for the featured rendering. I used a reference image with a rose gold finish to add an extravagant touch.
