AI Video Tips

In this post, I once again compare the AI video generators Runway ML with Sora.

The first Sora video I created from my original Corvette Supercar rendering is a little glitchy with the right side of the car jumping around in a new background. The second video was created in Runway with the same rendering and is much smoother.

I watched a YouTube video called ‘Cinematic CAMERA MOVEMENTS Explained’ to learn the precise words to use in the AI video prompt.

-Orbit left or right revolves the camera around the subject.

-The dolly shot moves you physically closer or farther away from the subject.

-The zoom shot compresses the scene to focus in or out.

-A pan shot is where the camera pivots left or right.

-The tilt shot pivots up or down.

-A crane shot up or down changes the height of the camera.

You can combine these camera movements to make the video more interesting.

I found a new view of the car that I liked by moving the video slider around in the Sora video. I copied that frame and reworked it in Adobe Photoshop to create the featured image. I created the third video with Runway based on this rendering.

I feel the overall quality of the Runway video is better than Sora’s. Granted the Sora video at 480p resolution versus 720p with Runway is influencing my decision. However, the Runway video looks more precise and pleasing to me than the Sora one.

I’ll continue using and comparing Runway with Sora since I have a year’s subscription on both.
